Please join us for our next quarterly lunch-and-learn webinar. We are excited to welcome two of the leaders from Taylor's Gift Foundation, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization that provides free grief support to organ and tissue donor families. Taylor’s Gift has a long-standing purpose of helping individuals and families who have been touched by organ donation, and we are glad to hear from some of its leaders. We hope that you will register for and participate in this webinar on Thursday, April 2.
Special Guests: Sophie Phillips & Hannah Showalter
SOPHIE PHILLIPS
Sophie Phillips brings a distinctive blend of healthcare social work, direct service, public policy, and nonprofit leadership to her role as Executive Director of Taylor's Gift. A Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW), Sophie earned her undergraduate degree in social work from the University of Iowa and her Master's from Washington University in St. Louis. She has held executive and leadership positions across a range of organizations — from small startups to established private foundations — building a career at the intersection of human services and systems change. Her work has consistently focused on ensuring that the right support reaches people at the right time, and that the policies and structures around them reflect their needs. She joined Taylor's Gift in late 2025 with a clear-eyed commitment to the organization's mission of providing free peer grief support to organ and tissue donor families nationwide. Sophie is dedicated to growing the organization's reach so that no donor family ever has to navigate their grief journey alone. She resides in Dallas with her husband and two young boys.
HANNAH SHOWALTER
Hannah Showalter, LMSW, is a passionate social worker specializing in grief and trauma-informed care. She earned her Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of South Carolina, with a concentration in Health and Mental Health, and has over eight years of experience supporting individuals, children, and families navigating profound loss, grief, and trauma. As the Director of Grief Support Services at Taylor’s Gift Foundation, Hannah develops compassionate, grief-informed programs and works closely with donor and donor-in-spirit families whose generosity and courage inspire her every day. She is dedicated to creating safe spaces where grief is validated, loss is remembered, and families can connect, share, and find support along their grief journey.
