We are honored once again to have Omar Palafox and Alejandro Ezquerra leading the Hispanic ministry community at Summit. Their continued guidance over the course of multiple Summits has been incredibly formative for all who attend this community. OMAR PALAFOX
Dr. Omar Palafox is Assistant Professor of Bible, Missions, and Ministry at Abilene Christian University, equipping students to read Scripture and culture with scholarly rigor and pastoral insight. After two decades of bilingual ministry across Latin America and the United States, he unites intercultural scholarship and practical formation in the classroom. He holds a DIS in Intercultural Studies (Fuller Seminary), M.Div. in Missions (ACU), M.S. in Doctrinal Studies, and B.S. in Bible (LCU). His research on missional collaboration, liberation theology, and Spirit-led discipleship informs prolific English-Spanish publications and frequent conference presentations, including Art of Sainthood: Tradition and Innovation in Christian Spirituality.
ALEJANDRO EZQUERRA
Dr. Alejandro Ezquerra serves as Senior Pastor at New Beginnings Church Bay Area. Born in León, Mexico, he has been married to his wife, Paulina, for 27 years, and together they have three grown daughters. Alejandro previously served for over fifteen years as Pulpit Minister at Bammel Church in Houston, where he also led bilingual ministry initiatives shaped by a commitment to culturally informed pastoral care. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Journalism from Houston Christian University and earned both a Master of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry degree from Abilene Christian University. His doctoral work focused on equipping lay members for pastoral care, reflecting his commitment to the priesthood of all believers. Alejandro has also served as a hospital chaplain in Houston and Abilene and taught Bible at Abilene Christian University since 2021. His work centers on forming communities grounded in presence, empathy, and shared ministry.
